“The World of Hans Zimmer – a Symphonic Celebration”, Is the work of the acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer, who announces his return to Portugal on December 8th for a second great concert, to celebrate and commemorate the huge success obtained when on April 3rd he experienced a sold out hall in Lisbon.
Hans Zimmer, the Oscar, Grammy and Golden Globe winner, is undoubtedly one of the most well-known and influent composers in the film industry. His powerful sonorities have shaped the contemporary motion pictures as no one has ever before. His soundtracks are part of an endless list of successful productions, seasoned with drama and emotional appeal, as examples we have “Lion King”, Pirates of the Caribbean”, “Gladiator”, “The Da Vince Code”, Interstellar” or “Inception”. These being some of the most famous films that belong to the composer´s list.
The World Tour “The World of Hans Zimmer – a Symphonic Celebration” was first launched in Germany in the end of April 2018. The tour was extended and after a long list of sold out concerts in Europe during the Spring of 2019, more shows are following. The return to Portugal is scheduled for December 8th, and although the composer isn´t present at the concerts, Hans Zimmer is the musical director as well as the curator for the tour. The concert also counts on long lasting friends and colleagues of the composer.
On the contrary to the tour “Hans Zimmer Live”, where the sound focused on Zimmer´s band and in its electronics, “The World of Hans Zimmer – a Symphonic Celebration” introduces the composer´s work organized by a live symphonic orchestra.
Zimmer himself has spent months transforming his soundtracks into opulent hall concerts, having him deciding to perform a world debut of his pieces, which ranges from “ Lion King” to “Gladiator”, in Germany, his hometown.
Also for the first time, the public will be able to enjoy visual projections from motion pictures sequences as the music is being played along. Besides that, many soloists participate in this symphonic celebration, such as Pedro Eustache, the “Pirates of The Caribbean” soundtrack flautist who appeared in the live tour.
Under the direction of Gavin Greenways, the great Symphonic Orchestra will deliver and intense and unforgettable concert experience. Short recordings in video of Hans Zimmer and his long lasting friends and colleagues are also shown in an intermittent way during the whole concert, giving to the public an exciting and joyful appearance of the work on backstage and in the studio.
“The World of Hans Zimmer – a Symphonic Celebration” is a unique opportunity to introduce orchestral music to a new generation, preserving this culture and presenting it to a less elitist world.
