Dave Matthews Band has just announced their new European Tour taking place in the autumn of 2015, starting in Lisbon. These are the first dates for the band in Europe since 2010, totalling 19 shows that will tour Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Denmark, Holland, Belgium, France and the UK.
The show being presented consists of two sets at each concert. The success of this two-part format was demonstrated during the 2014 summer tour, both in critical acclaim and the audience’s comments. Rolling Stone named Dave Matthews Band’s 2014 tour one of the best in the summer, highlighting that the new format has “brought about many good surprises”. The Atlanta Journal says that “the stage is where Dave Matthews Band builds its empire and where the band is master of its territory. DMB deserves kudos for always bringing its best to the stage”. In response to the shows presented as two sets, The Charlotte Observer mentions that “even when Dave Matthews Band opens for Dave Matthews Band there isn’t enough Dave Matthews Band that evening”.
With a career spanning over 20 years, Dave Matthews Band is one of the most influential bands in the history of rock music. The group, renowned for their catchy and distinctive sound, formed in 1991 in Charlottesville, Virginia and quickly generated a large fan base that catapulted them into one of the most successful live careers of the past 20 years. Dave Matthews Band has sold a total of 38 million CDs and DVDs to date.
Today, the band is recording in the studio with producer Rob Cavallo, who is known for his work with bands such as Linkin Park, Green Day, Eric Clapton, Black Sabbath, Phil Collins, Paramore, Meat Loaf, among others. The group is preparing the follow-up album to “Away From The World”, which was released in 2012 and went to Number 1 in Billboard’s Top 200 Records.
Dave Matthews Band is the first group in History to have gone to Number 1 in the sales charts with six consecutive albums. The band is also the world leader in live concert ticket sales in the past decade, having sold over 19 million tickets since the band formed.
